Our Ambition

We are currently looking to build our professional network but we have big ideas on how we can help young people.....

Mentoring: For individuals, studies show that good mentoring can lead to greater career success, including promotions, raises, and increased opportunities. At See it, Be it we believe mentors who have faced similar life challenges can add an extra layer to the mentor relationship in helping individuals navigate the corporate world.

Training: How to behave in a corporate environment is a skill acquired either through exposure (private schools traditionally build young people to be comfortable in the corporate world). See it, Be it would build out training sessions which focus on how to communicate effectively, how increase personal exposure and how to prepare for interview.

Networking Events: One of the major drawbacks for young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds is imposter syndrome and lack of confidence. This is often seen at networking events where they tend to sit on the periphery where middle class young people tend to be more confident to engage. See it, Be it would set up networking events aimed specifically for people from our target background to have the space to talk and build confidence. This would also enhance their personal network.

Another ambition is to host an annual black tie lunch for our mentees. Generally, in more senior positions black tie functions become a regular occurrence and can be intimidating if you have never attended before.

Financial/Practical Support: At See it, Be it we recognise that it can be expensive to better yourself – either through course fees, equipment fees or other unexpected blocks. See it, Be it would like to support individuals to remove blockers to enhancing their career prospects
